NJ bankruptcy lawyer, Virginia Fortunato is an honors graduate of Rhode Island College and received her law degree from New England School if Law in Boston, Massachusetts. She is admitted to practice law in the State of New Jersey including the Federal District Courts for the District of New Jersey.
After graduating from law school she moved from Rhode Island to New Jersey to clerk for the Honorable Eugene H. Austin, J.S.C. (Criminal Division) prior to clerking with the Rem Zeller Law Group. She also worked for a short period of time for the Office of Marie-Ann Greenberg, Chapter 13 Standing Trustee.
Ms. Fortunato has been practicing consumer bankruptcy law for more than 10 years. She is a member of the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys (NACBA) and a graduate of O. Max Gardner’s Bankruptcy Boot Camp which is an intensive 40-hour training focusing on mortgage servicing abuses. This training has assisted her in obtaining loan modifications on behalf of her clients.
Ms. Fortunato is a Barrister of the New Jersey Bankruptcy Inn of Court. She has been a panelist at the New Jersey Bankruptcy Practice Seminar organized by the New Jersey Institute of Continuing Legal Education. She has also spoken at the Bergen Country Bar Association and Seton Hall Law School.
Ms. Fortunato is happily married with a young son who keeps her busy. She enjoys reading and spending time at the Jersey Shore.
