NJ bankruptcy lawyer, Virginia Fortunato has been a New Jersey Consumer Bankruptcy Attorney for over 16 years. She is an honors graduate of Rhode Island College and received her law degree from New England School of Law in Boston, Massachusetts. She is admitted to practice law in the State of New Jersey including the Federal District Courts for the District of New Jersey.
After graduating from law school she moved from Rhode Island to New Jersey to clerk for the Honorable Eugene H. Austin, J.S.C. (Criminal Division) prior to clerking with the Rem Zeller Law Group working in the areas of criminal defense and immigration law. She also worked for a short period of time for the Office of Marie-Ann Greenberg, Chapter 13 Standing Trustee.
Ms. Fortunato concentrates her law practice solely on consumer bankruptcy. She is a long standing member of the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys (NACBA) and a two time graduate of O. Max Gardner’s Bankruptcy Boot Camps, which are intensive 40-hour trainings taught in North Carolina, which focus on consumer bankruptcy mortgage servicing abuses. These trainings have proven invaluable to her clients who benefit from her extensive knowledge in these areas.
Ms. Fortunato is a Barrister of the New Jersey Bankruptcy Inn of Court. She has been a panelist at the Annual New Jersey Bankruptcy Bench Bar Conference for numerous years which is organized by the New Jersey Institute of Continuing Legal Education and the New Jersey State Bar Association. She has also spoken at the Bergen County Bar Association’s Continuing Legal Education Seminars and Seton Hall Law School.
Ms. Fortunato has an 11 year-old son who keeps her on her toes. She enjoys reading and spending time at the Jersey Shore, the West Coast of Florida or any beach destination. Her family enjoys visiting National Parks countrywide. Her and her son love dogs and have two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Mason & Marley.
